Pupils can only be enrolled at the Hundertwasser School if parents have decided to attend a special school and the school authority has determined the special educational needs in a decision.<\/p>

Since the beginning of the 2014\/15 school year, the 9th School Law Amendment Act has been in force in NRW. It regulates the freedom of choice for pupils with special educational needs to attend a school of joint learning or a special school.<\/p>

In the case that parents of a child with special support needs decide to attend an elementary school with shared learning, the special educational support needs do not have to be determined at first.\u00a0<\/p>

In the event that parents of a child with special support needs are considering attending a special school, the\u00a0Determination of special educational needs<\/strong>\u00a0however, an absolute prerequisite.<\/p>

The need for special educational support is determined by the school authority on the basis of an educational assessment by means of a decision. The procedure within which this is determined is called AO-SF (A<\/strong>eduCationo<\/strong>rdnung\u00a0S<\/strong>onderp\u00e4dagogische\u00a0F<\/strong>\u00f6rderung). As a rule, this procedure can only be applied for by parents via the responsible elementary school at the school office. The necessary forms are available in the secretary's office of the elementary school. After opening the procedure according to AO-SF, the school office commissions two experts (1 elementary school teacher and 1 special education teacher), who jointly prepare an educational report on the child's need for support. If the report shows that a special educational need for support is to be determined, this report also contains a proposal for the place of support. The parents are involved from the beginning and to a large extent in the process of the assessment as well as in the result of the assessment. The school authority then decides on the basis of the pedagogical report and the parents' wishes.\u00a0<\/p>

If the school board has determined the need for special educational support and the parents wish to enroll in the Hundertwasser School, then parents can enroll their child in the Hundertwasser School with the corresponding decision from the school board.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
