H2O art project as part of the open programme in cooperation with the Alarm - Theatre Bielefeld in the 2024/25 school year
This school term, a total of 12 pupils from the Hundertwasser School came together in two groups (accompanied by Ms Graute from the STB and Ms Hübner) to give free rein to their creativity for three days each. Under the guidance of artist Rebecca Budde de Cancino, there were various open programmes on the subject of water at extracurricular learning venues. They observed, listened, drew, experimented and marvelled in the artist's studio in Bielefeld as well as at various locations along the Dalke in Gütersloh. In particular, the play of colours using oil pastels and ink, the creative use of natural materials and the spraying of shapes led to great "WOW effects" for children and adults alike.
Numerous pictures and collages and two wall hangings were created for the Hundertwasser School, which could be admired by all pupils and their parents in the school corridors in the parents' café after the end of the art days. Over the next few weeks, some of the artworks will continue to be on display in the school premises. There were also postcards with motifs from the project as a souvenir.
At this point, we would like to emphasise that the children are presented with unknown realities of life through activities of this kind and that they are encouraged in their emotionality and social behaviour in a different way here, away from school content and also from the Hundertwasser School as a place of learning, or that a different approach is used for this. The H2O project involves a lot of effort, which in retrospect is of great value. And afterwards the realisation of individual children: "We are real artists who do great things!"
Why don't you try out this world for yourself?
