Over the past few weeks, the classes have been making fantastic lanterns. This also increased the pupils' anticipation of the Festival of Lights. Songs were rehearsed and could be heard from time to time in the playground.
On 6 November 2024, the colleagues at Hundertwasser School welcomed around 120 people to the schoolyard. Families brought great treats for the buffet again this year.
St Martin's Day and the theme of helping others were discussed in the classes. As a sign of help and support, the children and their parents could bring a donation for the "Gütersloher Tafel". Many parents responded to the request and brought donations. The donations will be handed over to the "Gütersloher Tafel" together with some selected children from the Hundertwasser school and Mrs Hübner.
After the first song, which Mrs Pohlmann accompanied with her guitar, the buffet was opened. While feasting, the families were able to chat about this and that.
Once again this year, the Hundertwasser School Friends' Association donated the light sticks for the self-made lanterns. Thank you for that! Once all the children had their lanterns ready, the lantern parade, once again accompanied by the police, could begin. The police escort was particularly exciting for the younger children.
Once again, it was a wonderful event with a great atmosphere and lots of smiling children's faces 🙂
Here are a few impressions...
