The Bauwagen is a special school learning space for pupils in special circumstances.

Within the framework of the intensive educational measures of the Hundertwasser School, which are offered to pupils whose need for support goes far beyond the usual level, the Bauwagen project offers the possibility of providing special educational and socio-educational support to 4 pupils in a very close and intensive accompaniment in special places and at special times.

In the Bauwagen project, school and youth welfare work together. It is carried out by a teacher for special needs education from the Hundertwasser School and a social pedagogue from the Social Pedagogical Day Care (STB) of the Open Day.

The Bauwagen project is financed jointly by the school and the youth welfare service. The personnel resources for the teacher's position come from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, for the youth welfare from the financial participation of the Family and Social Affairs Department of the City of Gütersloh in the open all-day programme of the Hundertwasser School. The ongoing maintenance costs are covered by the Gütersloh District School Board, and the installation of the construction trailer is covered by the school budget.

The Gütersloh Civic Foundation has provided significant support by purchasing the construction trailer.
