The construction trailer is a special school learning space for students in special circumstances.

Within the framework of the intensive pedagogical measures of the Hundertwasser School, which are offered to pupils whose need for support goes far beyond the usual level, the Bauwagen project offers the possibility of providing special pedagogical and socio-pedagogical support to 4 pupils in a very close and intensive accompaniment in special places and at special times.

In the Bauwagen project, school and youth welfare work together. It is carried out by a teacher for special education of the Hundertwasser School and a social pedagogue of the social pedagogical day care (STB) of the open all-day program.

A maximum of 4 students spend four to five days a week from 10:30-12:15 in the project. Each day is structured in the same way:

Until 10:30 children participate in the offers of the class

10.30 Arrival time in the construction trailer
10.45 - 12.00 Intensive pedagogical offers (pedagogical riding, circus, kitchen, workroom, trauma pedagogical offers, school garden, MKT-Marburg concentration training, or similar)
12.00 Final round with reflection
YT 1/2 children are escorted to their respective STB group at 12:15 p.m.
JÜ 3/4 children go to the lessons of their class

The goals of the construction trailer project are:

Returning to the classroom and the activities of the all-day group.
Undisturbed teaching for the respective class
Avoidance of disciplinary measures - in particular avoidance of expulsion from school.
Promote school motivation, perseverance and frustration tolerance.
Alternation of tension and relaxation with special offers
Personal and individual meeting and accompaniment of the children with high attention from adults.
Being there for the children, communicating/relating with them calmly.
Develop problem solving strategies
Reduce school pressure
Practicing (school) structures
Building an understanding of values
Development of communicative ability to act
Initiation and development of cooperation skills

The Bauwagen project is financed jointly by the school and the youth welfare service. The personnel resources for the teacher's position come from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and for the youth services from the financial participation of the Family and Social Affairs Department of the City of Gütersloh in the open all-day program of the Hundertwasser School. The ongoing maintenance costs are covered by the Gütersloh district, and the installation of the construction trailer is covered by the school budget.

The Gütersloh Civic Foundation provided significant support by purchasing the construction trailer.
