23rd Gütersloh School Chess Tournament

First participation in the Gütersloh school chess tournament

On Saturday, 9 March 2024, the 23rd Gütersloh School Chess Tournament took place in the forum of the Anne Frank Comprehensive School in Gütersloh.

Pupils from the Hundertwasser School also took part in the chess tournament for the first time. Haro Uhlemeyer, Jaden McQueen and Circis Kaymaz competed for the Hundertwasser School. They managed to collect 11 points in the team ranking. This score secured the Hundertwasser School a respectable midfield position among all participating schools.

The Hundertwasser School was the only special school at the tournament. It was a great experience for the children. They were rewarded with medals and a small prize.

Perhaps even more children from the Hundertwasser School will be motivated to take part in the chess tournament next year.
