The basic idea: A cooperation project

The basic idea Open all-day with a socio-pedagogical focus at the Hundertwasser School as a cooperation project between school and youth welfare services

The open all-day program with a socio-educational focus at the Hundertwasser School is a cooperative project between the school and youth welfare services. The partners in this cooperative project are the Hundertwasser School with its school sponsor, the district of Gütersloh, the provider of the open all-day program - SPI Gütersloh - and the Family and Social Affairs Department of the city of Gütersloh as the responsible youth welfare provider for the students of the Hundertwasser School, who all come from the catchment area of the city of Gütersloh.

Originally designed as a model project for 3 years, this cooperation project between school and youth welfare has now been running successfully for over 10 years for the students of the Hundertwasser School and their families.

  • All students of the Hundertwasser School need a structured daily routine
  • The families of the students of the Hundertwasser School need professional support that goes far beyond school counseling.
  • A high percentage of the Hundertwasser School's SuS are recipients of youth services.
  • Open all-day offers the possibility of a multi-professional setting for students with special educational needs in the area of their emotional and social development.
  • In this multi-professional setting, it is also possible to provide on-site services to children with additional support needs.
  • This may result in potential savings in the area of youth services.
  • a socio-educational focus
  • special framework conditions with regard to spatial, material and personnel equipment
  • the youth welfare service/the department of family and social affairs as a partner
  • a measure provider with special competence: in this case the SPI (Sozialpädagogisches Institut) Gütersloh

In order for the open all-day program at the Hundertwasser School to be designed as an all-day program with a socio-educational focus, the two cooperation partners - school and youth welfare - must combine their respective capabilities.

  • Financed by federal, state and local funds from the district of Gütersloh.
  • Special spatial conditions
  •  2 partners on one site: Hundertwasser School and SPI
  • Funded through Outpatient Educational Assistance funds.
  • Agreement between the Family and Social Affairs Department of the City of Gütersloh and SPI.
  •
  • In the overall pedagogical concept, lessons, special support services, shared lunch, cultural and leisure activities, homework supervision and cooperation with parents are coordinated and complement each other.
  • The socio-educational focus with further learning support, socio-educationally supported leisure activities, remedial education and joint, intensive work with parents enables students with special needs in the area of their emotional and social development to participate in the open all-day program.
  • In addition, the students of the Hundertwasser School receive all outpatient educational assistance in the context of their families, which they would otherwise have applied for in the Family and Social Affairs Department of the City of Gütersloh, through the measure provider of our Open All-Day - the SPI Gütersloh.
